Eliza's POV:
I busied myself with packing, methodically folding each garment and carefully arranging them into my bags. The task offered a brief respite from the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside me. Suddenly, a familiar voice pierced through my concentration, pulling me back to the present moment.
"Eliza! Eliza!"
I turned to find Aurora standing in the doorway, her expression a mix of concern and impatience. Her presence was like a ray of sunshine breaking through the clouds, momentarily dispelling the shadows that lingered within me.
Aurora: Main kab se bula rahi hun tumhen.
(I have been calling you for so long)
I said, offering her a small smile. "Sorry, I didn't realize you were calling. My phone was silent."
Aurora sighed, her shoulders relaxing slightly. "It's fine. Are you finished packing?"
"Yeah, I'm all set," I replied, though my gaze involuntarily drifted to my phone, which lay forgotten on the bedside table, its screen illuminated with a flood of missed calls and messages.
"Let's go then. The car's ready," Aurora said, already heading out of the room with purposeful strides.
"Wait, did you finish packing?" I teased, a playful smirk tugging at the corners of my lips.
Aurora shot me a mock glare before replying, "Of course, I'm not as forgetful as you."
"Fair point," I chuckled, falling into step beside her as we made our way downstairs, where the butler awaited us with our luggage.
"Miss, your car is ready. Shall I take your bags?" the butler asked, a hint of deference in his tone.
"Yes, please. We'll be right down," I said, glancing at Aurora before adding, "Let me grab my handbag."
At the airport, after navigating through customs with practiced ease, we received the news of our flight's delay. "30 minutes," the announcement echoed through the bustling terminal, eliciting a collective groan from the weary travelers.
Undeterred by the setback, Aurora and I exchanged excited chatter about my brother's upcoming wedding, the anticipation palpable in the air like static electricity before a storm.
Finally, we boarded the plane, finding our seats and settling in for the long flight ahead. As the aircraft taxied down the runway, I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement mingled with a hint of nervousness, like a bird preparing to take flight for the first time.
Beside me, Aurora nudged me gently, her eyes sparkling with unbridled enthusiasm. "We're really doing this, Eliza. It's going to be amazing!"
I smiled back at her, feeling a rush of gratitude for her unwavering support and companionship. "I know, Aurora. I'm so glad you're here with me."
As the plane ascended into the vast expanse of the sky, carrying us towards new adventures and the promise of my brother's wedding, I closed my eyes, allowing myself to surrender to the unknown, ready to embrace whatever lay ahead with an
open heart and an adventurous spirit.
