Eliza's POV:
As the plane soared through the clouds, Aurora and I couldn't contain our excitement for the upcoming wedding. It was our first close family wedding, and the anticipation bubbled between us like a pot on the verge of boiling over. My brother, Aurora's brother Aariz, and our cousin armaan were seated with us, forming a tight-knit group that felt more like siblings than mere relatives.
With Aurora's parents. my chachu and Chachi and my cousin, Aariz already at the wedding destination, bustling with preparations, we knew the excitement would only escalate upon our arrival.
Mid-flight, as Aurora drifted off to sleep, I found myself unable to join her in slumber. Instead, I dwelled on the journey that had brought us here – from bitter rivals in our childhood, molded by the constant comparisons our families thrust upon us, to inseparable best friends.
It all began to change when I moved to Canada for high school.Due to some personal reasons. The distance from our families' expectations allowed Aurora and me to shed the animosity we once harbored towards each other and discover a genuine connection. Our bond grew stronger with each passing day, cementing our friendship into something unbreakable.
As we got to know each other, we realized just how uncannily similar our hobbies, favorite things, colors, and music tastes were—it was like discovering we were long-lost twins. Not only that, but we even noticed a striking resemblance in our appearance, leading us to joke that we could pass as twins ourselves. Maybe we were twins and got separated at birth.
Now, as we are returning home for my brother's wedding at the age of eighteen, we were more than just friends; we were each other's confidants, partners in mischief, and pillars of support.
The thought of the upcoming wedding stirred a whirlwind of emotions within me – excitement, nostalgia, and a hint of apprehension for what the future held. But one thing was certain: facing this new chapter alongside Aurora made it all the more thrilling.
As the weight of our journey settled upon my weary shoulders, Aurora leaned into me for support, her head finding solace against my shoulder. In that moment, amidst the backdrop of our shared trials and triumphs, we surrendered to the gentle embrace of sleep, allowing our souls to find respite in the warmth of each other's presence.
